DRAWING & PAINTING
Fourth – Seventh Grade
with Cathy Faiella
See and interpret; re-see and re-interpret both instructor and student designed set ups. We will become familiar with the artist’s tools and choices through interactive conversations and exercises. Students will explore their own artistic choices through composition, line drawings and color/value studies.

Child with Adult

Parent/grandparent/caregiver and child share in art explorations. Projects include a collaborative clay keepsake in time for the holidays as well as exercises in painting, printmaking and collage. Inspiration taken from the best in children’s literature, observation and their imaginations. Help your child explore ways to think about and create art with many different materials while encouraging creative risk taking.

Fourth Grade – Adult

Embark on a crash course in seeing and drawing while mastering classical fine art techniques and materials. Learn to interpret and capture observations with personal descriptive marks in pencil, charcoal and permanent ink and color.

CLAY: WHEEL THROWING & HAND BUILDING
Fourth grade – Adult

Learn to throw basic forms on the potter’s wheel and add glazing (mineral colors) to your work. This personalized class is adaptable to all levels and is limited to 5 students. Class price includes clay and firing fees.

Create and explore a character or two of your own! Emphasis on character creation, humor, idea generation and beginning storyboarding. Exposure to many cartooning techniques assist students in developing and maintaining their own original comic style.
Expand your imagination through an exploration of such modern and pop art masters as Warhol, Rauchenberg & Lichtenstein.

ART QUEST
Kindergarten – Third Grade

Who’s Art? What’s Art? Where’s Art?… Explore way to think about and create Art with many different materials and creative risk taking. This class will focus on drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting and encourage young artists to develop the strong observational skills that are key to all areas of learning– all while stretching the limits of their creativity and imagination

SUMMER CERAMIC ART
Entering First - Adult
with Robyn Tauss
Emphasis on learning hand building techniques: pinch, coil and slab. These techniques/skills will be combined to form teapots or other vessels. Several classes will be devoted to learning beginning wheel throwing techniques. This personalized class is adaptable to all levels and offers limited enrollment. Class price includes clay and firings.
